Q: What is Kettle Dyed Yarn?

A: Kettle dyeing is a process that gives your colors wonderful unique shading and hues. Each dye lot is different and unlike commercial dyeing there can be residual dye left on the yarn.

Q: What is hand Painted yarn?

A: Hand painted yarns are done individually by actually painting the dye onto the yarn.

Our yarn arrives from the mill 2 to 3 times a year. I dye mostly in the summer months. I use the clothesline to dry my yarn so I depend on good weather. Each "lot" that arrives, I have a specific pattern that I want to create and I dye the yarn based on that creation. I do custom dye lots if you have a specific project that you are working on and you want a range of color I can help you with that.

For the spinners I carry hand paint fleece, roving and batts in natural and hand painted colors as well as all Louet spinning wheels and all the accessories to get you started in spinning.
